Stitch Fix February 2017!

Hello Stitch Fixers! I’ve failed to blog about my last couple fixes but hoping that won’t happen again…I just can’t seem to get anything done from November-January…too busy with holiday and vacation FUN!  Now I’m back in the grind but still have these awesome packages to look forward to every few weeks! If you don’t know about Stitch Fix please scroll to the bottom of this post to learn more. Here’s what I got this month:

1. MTLA Kristin Fleece Leggings $44. Guys…these were fugly.  I mean, MAN…I can’t find much good to say about them.  The fabric was a polyester/spandex mix which made them really soft and comfortable and also made every curve, vein, bend, etc of my legs visible.  They were maroon…enough said there.  It was almost like I was wearing maroon, footless, cheap, thick pantyhose.  I don’t even know what else to say but that I’m sending them back.

2. 41Hawthorn Queensland Dolman Jersey Top $48. LOVE THIS TOP!!!  I will wear this thing until it falls apart.  It’s super soft and very forgiving.  It covers my butt in leggings but could also be dressed up with skinny jeans and heels.  It could go to work or on Saturday errands.  The fugly leggings didn’t do it justice but my Lula leggings work great with it…more on LuLaRoe in future posts. Anyway –  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!  Keep.

3.  41Hawthhorn Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater $68. Another keeper! This is just a good ‘ol every day sweater.  It’s surprisingly VERY soft which is a big plus in the sweater world.  I’m usually not crazy about horizontal stripes but they didn’t bother me on this. Again, it could be worn for work or play.  YAY!

4.  Market & Spruce Careen V-Neck Dolman Knit Top $48. Another no-brainer!  I will mention that I asked my stylist this month for “comfy” clothes like leggings, long sweaters and knit tops.  Boy did she deliver!  I may stick with that request for my next fix too!  This is just an everyday grey V-neck.  It could literally be worn with just about anything. It’s long enough for leggings but could also go with shorts, jeans or even a skirt or slacks at work.  LOVE IT.

 5.  Rune Porter Leggings $44.  These leggings were a bust.  Usually I’d be all over black leggings but this material was super stiff and not that comfortable. And let’s be honest, what’s the point of leggings if they’re not comfortable??  They’re going back.

So there you have it!  I’ll be keeping three awesome tops! Both knit tops will be great all the way through spring.  After my styling fee is removed and tax is added these three items come to $160 which is about $53 per item.  Not bad!!! Especially since I know I’ll wear the heck out of all three. Here’s what my stylist sent:

 Have a good weekend everyone!!!

What is Stitch Fix??

Stitch fix is an online shopping service and I think their system is brilliant.  Here’s how it works:

Create an account on the Stitch Fix website and complete an extensive style profile.  The profile questionnaire will include information about your size, style, price range, etc.  You will also determine how often you want to receive your “fix”.  Your profile is then sent to a personal stylist who puts together your fixes.  You can also opt to attach a Pinterest board or other social media sights so your stylist gets a better feel for you.

I chose to receive monthly fixes with my first to arrive in December, 2015.  A few days before your fix arrives, your account will be charged a $20 styling fee.  Each fix contains 5 items.  The items vary and can be clothing or accessories…dress, pants, sweater, necklace, shoes, purse, etc.  It’s a surprise each time!  Also included with the five items is a personal note from your stylist and outfit ideas for each individual item.  Finally, there is a price sheet.  Now comes the pressure cooker!  You have 3 days to determine what you want to buy and what you want to send back. There is a prepaid bag for returns…just put your discards in the bag and drop it in any mail box.  Finally log on to your account and pay for items you want to buy.  Your $20 styling fee will be put towards your purchase.  If you purchase all five items, you will get a $25% discount.  So…to wrap this up…you are taking a $20 risk for each fix.  The worst that can happen is that you send all 5 items back and you’re out the 20 bucks.
